Originally composed in 1999 as Tres piezas cortas, Op. 16, this collection belongs to Bertrand Chavarría‑Aldrete’s earliest creative period (1995–1999). Dedicated to guitarist Enrique Salmerón, who premiered the work at the Teatro Lope de Vega of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León on 19 March 1999, the pieces reflect the composer’s formative years and his close relationship with the guitar.
