Composed in 1998 and originally submitted to the Guitar Foundation of America Composition Competition as Vals Nº 1, Op. 17, this short waltz was dedicated to guitarist Martín Madrigal.

Zamba (2003) by Octavio López
One of the first works that were written for Bertrand Chavarría-Aldrete. Zamba was recorded in the album Bypass 2.1 (sonorités avec guitare) in the French label 3D Classics by Bertrand Chavarría-Aldrete in 2007.
